Tossed
Meet Vincent
Vincent, the Top Tosser set up Tossed in 2005 straight out of Uni, armed with a business degree and a passion for health and food. Bored with the small portions and bland taste of so called “health foods” Vincent set about to create an offering that was full of flavours, big on portion sizes in a fun environment. Despite having little practical experience, the idea for Tossed was born.
Vincent travelled to America to develop his ideas, tasting what felt like every Californian smoothie and every New York salad ever conceived. He came back to the UK armed with a wealth of knowledge and worked hard to get the concept off the ground. Aged 24 he spent a long time trying to convince potential landlords (who were mostly middle aged and overweight) that healthy eating was the future. Eventually, someone believed him and in 2005 we opened in Paddington Central
Vincent always planned on opening his own business and showed signs of entrepreneurship from a young age. Early ventures included cycling to the next borough to get different flavoured Push Pops from one particular shop and selling them in the playground for a good profit. His sister likes to remind him he used to buy ice cream blocks and cut them up and sell them to his 5 siblings!
Vincent is the winner of numerous food and entrepreneurship awards and was picked as ‘The One to Watch’ in the Courvoisier ‘The Future 500’ announced in January 2008. Vincent also won an Acorn Award in 2009 which is the food industry’s leading young person’s award with previous winners including Gary Rhodes and Gordon Ramsey. Vincent is a keen supporter of entrepreneurship among young people and is an Ambassador for the Make Your Mark campaign.
When Vincent isn’t working (which is not often) he enjoys cooking, eating out, salsa dancing (hence all the salsa music in the stores) or hitting the gym. Vincent is also a keen runner and has run two London Marathons raising money for various charities.
Vincent is big on service and likes to get on the front line and is often in the stores tossing or serving the guests so feel free to slap him round the head or pinch his bum if you’re cute
