Tossed
The Tossed Story
Following months of travelling the world in search of healthy food, not to mention weeks of tasting lettuce, wraps and healthy fillings, Vincent; fresh out of Uni opened the first Tossed store in Paddington, West London in April 2005. The mission was simple; to create a new, healthy and exciting food experience for the UK market. Bored with the small portions and bland taste of the so-called "healthy options" available, Vincent wanted to create a healthy food offering with lots of choice that didn't compromise on taste or portion size.
Our view is that healthy eating isn't boring. It has nothing to do with sitting in a field nibbling rice cakes and munching sunflower seeds, whilst wearing a grass skirt and a straw hat. To us, it’s about following a balanced diet that includes lots of fresh fruit and veg, some good carbs, loads of water and the odd beer and curry as a reward!
By keeping food simple, fresh and natural, you can eat to your heart’s content. We have a large bar with thousands of fresh ingredient combinations where you can choose from a large selection of house salads, wraps and hot pots, or create your own if you prefer. We also have a range of healthy wraps and toasties that are made fresh and ready to go each day. If that’s not already enough to tempt you, we also make fresh smoothies and juices and offer warming, healthy, hearty soups and stews on low-GI rice. Our breakfast menu includes whole wheat muffins & croissants, low fat yoghurts, fruits, granola and good old fashioned Scottish porridge.
We don’t pretend to be healthy; we are! We were the first company in the UK to display all the nutritional and calorific information in store on all our handmade products as we have nothing to hide (this isn’t a legal requirement for cafes, only manufacturers). We work harder to keep you healthier.
We hope you like what we do, and we love to get your feedback. We know that we’re not perfect and we welcome the opportunity to improve our products and services.
So... enjoy! And remember, whatever your parents told you, tossing is good for you!
Hope to see you again,
Vincent and the Tossed Team
