Following months of travelling the world in search of the Perfect Salad - not to mention weeks of tasting lettuce, leaves and healthy fillings, we opened our first store in Paddington, West London in April 2005. Our mission: to create a new healthy, exciting food experience for the UK market. Bored with the small portions and bland taste of the so-called “healthy-options” available, we wanted to create a healthy food offering with lots of choice, without compromising taste or portion size.
Our view is that “healthy eating” is nothing to do with sitting in a field nibbling rice cakes and munching sunflower seeds. To us, it’s about following a balanced diet, including lots of fresh fruit and veg and some good carbs, with loads of water plus the odd beer and curry as a reward! It’s a philosophical approach to life that means that when you can, you take things easy and in moderation. It’s also about having respect for your fellow human beings and your environment. We’re here to help you make these positive changes in your life - hence our strap line “turning over a new leaf”.
By keeping food simple fresh and natural, you can eat to your hearts’s content. We have a large salad bar with a choice of 16 house salads, or you can create your own salad. We also have a range of healthy sandwiches, bagels and wraps all of which are made on-site on the day and display their nutritional and calorific content. If that’s not enough we also a have fresh smoothie and juice bar. Our breakfast menu includes a range of low fat yummy bagels, yoghurts, muesli and good old fashioned Scottish Porridge.
We hope you like the results and would love to have feedback from you: we know we’re not perfect and welcome the opportunity to improve our products and services.
So, enjoy: and remember: whatever your parents told you, tossing’s good for you!
Hope to see you soon Vincent and the Tossed Team
